The Village of Whiting Water Utility recently received authorization from the Wisconsin Public Service Commission to raise water rates for the first time since 2013. The water rate increase was requested to accommodate for inflation and improvements needed at the water treatment facility. Water rates were increased in two steps and the first of which occurred in 2024. The Step II water rate increase became effective on September 17, 2025.
